Albina Orfei

Obituary of Albina Orfei

Orfei, Albina (Malvina) 1931 – 2022

After celebrating her 90th birthday, it is with profound sadness that we must say goodbye to an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was the rock of the Orfei family and is now reunited with her beloved husband of nearly 60 years, Renato (2014), and her precious angel, daughter Anna (1969). Sadly missed by her beloved children Gianna, Milena and Frank, her adoring grandchildren Sierra, Michael, Amanda and Peter, and her new great grandson Paolo. Nonna is predeceased by her sister, Marsiglia and her brother in-law Giacomo (Italy), her brother Argilio Lametti and her brother in-law Laimburgo Lerporni (all of Port Colborne). She is survived by her sister Stella Leporoni and sister in-law Merina Lametti (all of Port Colborne). She will be greatly missed by her nieces and nephews.

Nonna was a strong and courageous woman arriving in Canada in 1957, from Genga, Ancona, Italy and since then was passionately dedicated to her church, St. Therese of Lisieux. She firmly believed in the power of prayer and would recite the rosary daily until she could no longer pray. She was deeply rooted in her love of family, who she cherished dearly. Nonna was a pillar of generosity, but humble at her core. She never sought recognition, and always showcased her caring and compassionate nature daily. If one needed a helping hand, you never had to ask, because she was always at your doorstep waiting to follow in Christ’s footsteps. Nonna also loved to knit and sew, and would make hats and scarves to donate to local children’s charities. Her family are forever grateful for all that she has taught us throughout her life and the countless memories we will carry with us daily.

Dear Nonna, rest in peace, until we meet again.
