Obituary of Rose Weaver
Passed away at Portal Village in Port Colborne, Ontario on Saturday, January 22nd in her 90th year. Rose is survived by her stepsons Timothy (Holly) Weaver of Qualicum Beach, B.C. and Patrick (Dawn Penna) Weaver of Fort Erie as well as her sister Vera Ursacki. Loving grandmother to Jillian (Hall) Murdoch, Timothy (Kaitie), Zachary (Lauren), Miranda (Nes) Diaz, and Brent (Lea). Great-grandmother to James, Sidney, Brady, Alexander, Christian, Kash, and Kolby. She will also be missed by many nieces and nephews.
Rose was predeceased by her beloved husband Sidney John Weaver in 2008, parents Andrew and Teresa Nagy, sisters Mary, Betty, Barbara, Ann, Julia, and brothers Andrew Jr., Joe, and Billy.
Rose worked at the Maple Leaf Mills bag factory and Lanark, and she was a member of the Catholic Women’s League and St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. Teresa of Lisieux for many years. She loved cooking, gardening, reading, crafts, collecting angels, and riding her bike all over town. Rose was happiest when entertaining family and friends, and she would remember them all with cards in the mail on all occasions.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at Portal Village for the care and compassion they provided every day.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 179 Clarence Street, Port Colborne. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday January 26, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Therese of Lisieux Roman Catholic Church, 379 Fares Street, with Father Janusz Roginski as celebrant. Rite of Committal will follow at Mt. St. Joseph Cemetery. Due to COVID restrictions, attendance will be monitored for capacity, gathering limits will be enforced and facemasks are required. Following the services, the Mass may be viewed on the funeral home YouTube channel.
