Obituary of Carter Richard Keith
Passed away on March 1, 2021 at McMaster Children’s Hospital at the age of 16. Carter had survived a heroic battle beating everyone’s expectations for over 16 years after suffering a traumatic brain injury at daycare when he was 5 1/2 months old. Forever cherished and loved son of Kevin and Christine (Hatton) and loving little brother of Kevin and Kennedy. Predeceased by his grandpa and grandma Richard and Frances Hatton. Also survived by his grandparents Bob and Carol Keith, uncle Craig (Lori) Keith, aunt Shannon Keith (Scott Smith) and cousins Ashton and Mila. Carter was a grade 11 student at Notre Dame College School. He was a former student at Holy Name Catholic School where the students, especially his classmates, exemplified understanding, compassion and empathy throughout his years there. Their friendship and love did not go unnoticed. The family extends sincere thanks to his many nurses over the years, especially Toni, Erin, Anita, Colleen, Jocelyn and Trina. Cremation has taken place with arrangements entrusted to the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 179 Clarence Street, Port Colborne. Due to current COVID restrictions, there will be a time to celebrate his life at a later date when it is safe for all to do so. If so desired, memorial donations may be made to the Pediatric Palliative Care Fund at McMaster Children’s Hospital whose support and compassionate care have been greatly appreciated.
