Obituary of John Schouten

Passed away unexpectedly on February 4, 2021 at the Welland County General Hospital at the age of 90. John was predeceased by his first wife of 30 years, Ada (1990). Much loved husband of 29 years Sylvia, cherished father of Joe (Gabriele) Schouten, MaryAnn (Tim) Gill and Jacki (Tom) Charalampidis and stepfather of Cindy (Bob) McCord and Tammy (Danny) VanNatter. Loving Opa of Katrina, Sasha, Anja, Jacob (Agnese), Addison, Emily, Autumn, Denver, Cloee, Isaiah, Bobby (Jess), Kaitlyn (Mike), Tabitha and Suzy (Duane). Dear Great Opa of Elizabete, Rylin, Liam, Maverick, Morgan and Jake. He will be forever missed by his brothers Gerry, Theo and Nic and his many nieces, nephews and friends. John was passionate about his family and embraced life to the fullest with a great sense of humour. He was especially fond of travel, golf, cycling and gardening. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 179 Clarence Street, Port Colborne. There will be a private family Funeral Service in the Armstrong Chapel and Rite of Committal following at Mount St. Joseph Cemetery.
