Obituary of Lowell Carl Wideman

Passed away peacefully with his loving wife by his side on Monday, January 28, 2019 at St. Joseph Hospital at the age of 61.

Cherished husband for 38 years of Janice, much loved father of Shannon (Robert) Arsenault and adored Papa of Ava, Hudson, Ivy and Meira Arsenault. He will be forever missed by his father Carl (late Earla), brother Neal (Sue) and sister Colleen (Jeff) Sherk.  Also survived and missed by his mother in law Edna (late Martin) Poulsen, sister in law Kathy Stephens, brothers in law John and Christen (Melina) Poulsen, and his many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends. Holding a special place in his heart was the special relationship he held with many cousins.

Lowell worked at the Welland Hospital for many years, ending his career at the Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital. He was a wood worker and an avid outdoorsman, especially enjoying hiking, camping and fishing. Spending time with his “camping buddies” will always be held close to his heart.

The family wishes to extend sincere thanks to the staff of Royal Rose Place, the congregation of Port Colborne BIC Church, the Church Life Group, Pastors Brian Lofthouse and John Gibbins and their special group of friends, especially April Milbrandt and Scott Alder for their loving and caring support during this difficult time.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 179 Clarence Street, Port Colborne. There will be a memorial service in the summer.

If so desired, memorial donations may be made to the Port Colborne BIC Church.
