Obituary of Robert Green

Robert Francis Green, of Port Colborne, passed away peacefully in his 76th year, on Thursday, January 11th, 2018 surrounded by his family. Predeceased by his loving wife Mabel Anne (Nee MacDougall), his brother Billy, his mother Annie Walsh, and his aunt Madeline Jolley.

Loving father of Rob (Sandra), John (Carolyn), Theresa (Todd) and Mary (Fred). He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Tyler, Courtney, Kate, Dillan, Sarah, Mitchell, Melissa, and step-grandchildren Jessica, Trevor, and Jennifer. Survived by his cousin Jim Jolley, sisters and brothers-in-law Mary and Gerald Hart, Martin and Ernistine MacDougall, Hughena and Edwin Seward, William and Teresa MacDougall, and Adrian MacDougall. He will be forever missed by his many nieces and nephews.

Robert leaves behind his loving family, by whom he will be dearly missed. Robert faced adversity, especially his recent health issues without complaint, but instead with his ever- present inner strength and resolve, as if in a lasting lesson on how to meet any life challenge.  He was a man of few words but whose big heart was demonstrated in kind and lasting gestures and without fanfare. He taught his children to approach life with integrity and to take pride in the ethic of hard work. Robert was a humble and quiet man but had a sense of humor known by only those close to him.  Whenever he was called upon by his children or grandchildren he was always willing to be there, without question.  Together with his loving wife, Mabel, they focused on and forged a life of family and good values.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 179 Clarence Street, Port Colborne.

In keeping with Robert’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Cremation has taken place. There will be a memorial celebration of life for family and friends at a later date. If so desired, memorial donations may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation.
